ÃÛÌÒTV Alabama Community College Hosts Legislative Receptions to Celebrate Funding to Our College
Alexander City, Childersburg, and Prattville, AL – Aug 16, 2023 - ÃÛÌÒTV Alabama Community College (CACC) hosted legislative receptions at its Alexander City, Childersburg, and Prattville campuses to express sincere appreciation to the legislators for their assistance in securing $10M in supplemental funding for fiscal year 2023, to be used for renovation of the Alexander City and Childersburg campuses and $2M in 2022, to be used for the Marine Technology and Construction building programs. In addition, CACC received an increase in Operational and Maintenance of 6% for FY 24.
This significant funding will be instrumental in renovating the Alexander City and Childersburg campuses, enhancing the learning environment for students, and strengthening the college’s commitment to excellence in education.
CACC President Jeff Lynn expressed his appreciation: “We are grateful to our legislative delegation for their unwavering support in securing these crucial funds. Their belief in the value of community college education and their dedication to our institution will have a lasting impact on our students and the communities we serve.”
He continued, “This funding represents not only an investment in our campuses but a statement of trust and confidence in our mission. I want to extend special thanks to Chancellor Baker for his tireless efforts in championing our cause.”
CACC’s Director of Governmental Affairs, Scott Hardy, remarked, “This achievement is a testament to the power of collaboration and a shared vision. Working hand-in-hand with our legislators and partners, we’ve realized what’s possible when we unite to improve and elevate education in Alabama.”
The legislative receptions served as a platform for dialogue and collaboration between educators, lawmakers, and community stakeholders, reinforcing the shared commitment to higher education and community development.
