ÃÛÌÒTV Alabama Community College Hosts Statewide Training Session for Alabama Department of Corrections Leadership

PRATTVILLE, AL – November 14, 2024 – ÃÛÌÒTV Alabama Community College (CACC) recently welcomed executive leaders and wardens from correctional facilities across the state for an intensive training and development session at our Prattville campus. The event marks a meaningful milestone in the partnership between the Alabama Community College System (ACCS) and the Alabama Department of Corrections (ADOC), reinforcing a shared dedication to workforce development and continuous enhancement of correctional operations.

Throughout the day, ADOC leaders participated in focused training sessions to address critical correctional management and leadership aspects. Hosting the event at CACC’s Prattville campus enabled active learning and collaboration, furthering ADOC’s mission to cultivate robust and effective leadership across its facilities.

President Jeff Lynn highlighted the importance of strengthening the collaboration between CACC and ADOC to create more opportunities for professional growth.

“CACC is eager to build on our partnership with the Alabama Department of Corrections,” said President Lynn. “Our focus is on working together to create continuous opportunities that support workforce readiness and professional development. Through initiatives like this, we can help promote a stronger future for our community and the entire state.”

Brandy Mitchell, Dean of Academic Programs and Prattville campus administrator, emphasized the significance of this partnership and its positive impact on the community.

“We are devoted to serving our community by offering resources that drive workforce development,” said Mitchell. “Our collaboration with the Alabama Department of Corrections enables us to support meaningful improvements within the correctional system and contribute to the growth of Alabama’s workforce.”

Commissioner John Q. Hamm of the Alabama Department of Corrections stressed the importance of this partnership in enhancing the skills and capabilities of ADOC staff.

“The Alabama Community College System has proven to be a trusted partner in our efforts to enhance the skills and expertise of our staff,” said Commissioner Hamm. “By utilizing ACCS’s training facilities and programs, we are able to provide our leadership with the tools they need to make meaningful improvements and drive our agency forward.”

Looking ahead, CACC is committed to furthering this collaboration and continuing to meet ADOC’s training and development needs. By deepening this partnership, CACC aims to adapt to the correctional system’s evolving demands while maintaining its vital role in workforce development and community impact throughout Alabama.
